PROPER CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR NATURAL STONE

Natural Stone installed by INSTONE MARBLE including granite, marble, travertine and limestone are

natural stones that have been cut and polished.  Natural Stone requires regular care to maintain the

stone in the highest possible condition. We recommend you regularly clean and re-seal the stone every
six months with an application of a silicone impregnator sealer. Sealing granite, marble, travertine and limestone is not a guarantee against staining.  Natural stone is a porous material that is susceptible to scratching, staining, chipping, dulling and other wear from ordinary use and care.  Even under normal conditions there can be shrinkage of materials, such as glues and caulking.  We recommend you periodically inspect and caulk seams as necessary to prevent leaks and other damage.  You can obtain the proper materials, cleaners, caulking and sealants from your local professionals.  Proper care will not insure against scratching, staining, chipping, dulling, and other damage, but it will provide better protection from such damage.

Below is a list of Do’s and Don’ts:

Do seal granite, marble, travertine, and limestone every 6 months
Do clean surfaces with mild detergent or daily stone cleaner
Do
wipe up spills immediately
Do use cutting boards, trivets, coasters and hot pads

Don’t
repetitively expose stone to extreme heat; this may damage the polish finish
Don’t expose stone to oven cleaners, Drano, liquid plumber and floor strippers
Don’t use oven/grill cleaner as this may cause discoloration to the granite
Don’t use abrasive materials such as comet, scouring powders or scouring pads
Don’t leave wine, coffee, grape juice, oil, etc on granite as this can cause stains
Don’t
use cleaners that contain acid
Don’t cut directly on the stone; we strongly suggest using a cutting board

For stubborn stains such as wine, ink, oils, water, fat, and excessive dirt, you should consult a professional for assistance.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the proper care of your natural stone.

PROPER CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CAESAR STONE

Its hard, nonporous surface makes CaesarStone simple to clean. In most cases, soap and water or a mild detergent is all
that is required to maintain its luster. If necessary, a non-abrasive cleanser such as
Soft Scrub Liquid Gel with Bleach
   or
Comet Soft Cleanser Cream With Bleach can be used. Adhered materials like food, gum or nail polish can be scraped away with a plastic putty knife; any marks left by the blade can be removed with Soft Scrub Liquid Gel. Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water to remove residue.

Please understand that HONED, TEXTURED and MOTIVO finishes will require more daily maintenance than our polished finishes. Since there is more exposed surface area with honed finishes, metal marks, finger prints and other signs of daily living will show on honed material. Most of these marks can be easily removed with little effort and non-abrasive cleaning products such as
Soft Scrub Liquid Gel.

CaesarStone prides itself in providing our customers a virtually care-free surface, but as with any product, excessive abuse can harm its finish. With a small amount of care, your CaesarStone surface will look as great as the day you bought it for years to come.
